GET RID OF THAT RECORD

GET RID OF  THAT RECORD

Recently, someone was telling me how her aged father still keeps record of people who had wronged him in the past in spite of his age. According to her, he has a diary where he records the names of anyone who steps on his toes.

It makes me to recollect how mum also told me how  she was a pro at keeping records of wrongs before she got born again. She would write the date, the name of the person and the offence of the person. Thank God, she does not do that anymore. She burnt the books and chose to move on.

I remember the same thing wanted to become my habit several years ago when I kept record of how someone offended me. It's still in my diary of that year. But I understood it early in life and had to stop the act.

What keeping records of wrong doings of people do to you is to cut you off the plans of God. Matthew 6 :12 says "forgive us our trespasses even as we forgive those who trespass against us". In other words, we are outrightly saying we do not need God's forgiveness when we refuse to forgive others.  Refusing to forgive others holds you in perpetual  chains of hatred and bitterness. It keeps you in the past making you forget about the future. Each time you visit such diary, you would so hate the person and feel like getting rid of such.

Love does not keep scores of the sins of others. 1 Corinthians 13:5.

Who's that person who has hurt you deeply and you have chosen not to forgive? Please let go of the past. Do not be held by the chains of the past. There are greater things ahead. Remember how Joyce Meyer was molested by her own dad, but she forgave him. Our Lord Jesus forgave Peter. Forgive others too.

When the devil wants to bring the record of someone who offended me in the past, here's what I do. I go to God like a child. I tell him how such has hurt me and how I can't just breathe. I ask for grace to forgive such and to love them back. I release forgiveness on them. It works like magic because the peace I feel after that time is immeasurable. Try it too. I still did that few days ago.

It is not just about forbidding to keep records of wrong doings in your book, it is about discarding  the records in your heart. You are doing yourself good by doing so. It keeps your hope alive and make you stay healthy. It makes you free from every form of entanglement.

Be ready to forgive ahead as many who will step on your toes this year. Ask God to help you. As much as you forgive others, learn how to forgive yourself too and move on.

THE POWER OF IMPURE THOUGHTS BY OLUWABUNMI AREGBESOLA

THE POWER OF IMPURE THOUGHTS BY OLUWABUNMI AREGBESOLA "When a man constantly feeds on impure substances, he is simply feeding his heart with garbage." Impure thoughts are powerful such that they render you incapacitated in the things of the spirit.  They have a way of captivating your heart and making you see no need for pressing deep into the realities of the spirit.  Those articles you have downloaded and digested can't add any substance of value to you, but would rather take away vital substance from you.  Those disgusting discussions you have engaged yourself in will only impair your vision.  Show me a man who has been feeding his heart with garbage, and I will show you a man who has been held captive by this garbage.  You can't continue to sow impure ideas and expect to reap pure meditation.  A man who engages himself in impure thoughts would only be a stumbling block to his growth.  No wonder you have been entan...

NOT WITHOUT A FATHER

NOT WITHOUT A FATHER For those who are so close to me, they will know I rarely mention my Dad. He's alive and healthy.  I grew up not knowing my Dad. I grew up not knowing what fatherly love meant. My Dad is very much alive but we are far from each other. I was around 11 years or so before he came looking for me. First of all, I am grateful to God for giving me my mum. She went through a lot raising me.  So, while I was growing up, I envied those who talked about their dad so much. I wish I could be like them. I wish I could have someone who would be able to show me love. I didn't know fatherly love not until when I met my Spiritual father in Ibadan in 2010. He received me with open arms.  For several years, I lived with hurt and hatred in my heart. I cried bitterly most times when I reminisce about so many things.  A day came when I heard God said to me"For this reason were you separated from your mother's womb, you are not accidental...

THE KID'S LOVE STORY (CHAPTER 1)

PREPARING TO BE A HELP MEET BY DEBI PEARL  THE KID'S LOVE STORY (CHAPTER 1) Moral to the story: God wants, no, He needs us to pray.  CAUTION: Don't pray amiss.  The kid's love story is that of the author herself; Debi Pearl. She had just turned 13 when she first saw her man in a program  and immediately she knew he was the right one for her. Of course the man didn't notice her not until many years later. Why would God bypass a guy of at least 21 years old, and come to a kid of 13 years old telling her he was the one she was going to marry. Sounds weird right?  God does not do anything without a reason. He is the God who knows the end, right from the beginning.  When the young Debi got home, she told her mum, and her mum began to follow her up to always pray for the man of God. The young Debi took it upon herself, praying for the man of God. She wasn't praying to be his wife, neither was she praying for him to notice her. She...
