THE KID'S LOVE STORY (CHAPTER 1)

Moral to the story: God wants, no, He needs us to pray. 

CAUTION: Don't pray amiss. 

The kid's love story is that of the author herself; Debi Pearl. She had just turned 13 when she first saw her man in a program  and immediately she knew he was the right one for her. Of course the man didn't notice her not until many years later. Why would God bypass a guy of at least 21 years old, and come to a kid of 13 years old telling her he was the one she was going to marry. Sounds weird right? 

God does not do anything without a reason. He is the God who knows the end, right from the beginning. 

When the young Debi got home, she told her mum, and her mum began to follow her up to always pray for the man of God. The young Debi took it upon herself, praying for the man of God. She wasn't praying to be his wife, neither was she praying for him to notice her. She was just praying for him. That's a lesson we should all imbibe. 

"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2

Several other ladies wanted to marry him. They were showing themselves off to him. Debi never did that even they had to work together later. She was just there for him, supporting him. 

"He needed me. I jumped into any project he had going, not because I was after him, but because I was interested in the things he was interested in. We shared God's vision for winning the lost." Debi Pearl 

If it were to be some of us, we would have been showing ourselves unnecessarily. We wouldn't give the man a chance to breathe. We would be so engrossed with him that we won't even have time for our God. It shouldn't be like that. 

She prayed without any strings of attachment. 

After a while, Michael came proposing and they got married eight days later. Yours may not be like this. Everyone's love story is different. 

Why did God tell Debi to pray ahead of time because Michael would be her husband? 

Michael was a man of God and a preacher who needed a lady who would be faithful in praying for him. He needed much prayers because of the things he was involved in. God saw the young kid as readily available, so He communicated the burden to her. 

Michael was also a very tall and handsome man who any lady would be ready to die for. Several ladies chased after him. Some even thought he was God's will for them. Who wouldn't love a good thing? So, the prayers of Debi helped Michael unconsciously. He was saved from temptations. 

"Michael needed a help meet to pray for him a long time before he needed a wife. I prayed. My mama reminded me to pray." Debi Pearl 

While waiting for Mr Right, please learn how to pray for all. Pray for all men. Pray for God's servants. Pray for your man even though you haven't met him. You don't know what your prayers are doing to him. Just pray. Instead of waiting lazily, please pray. Pray that God perseve your man wheresoever he is. Pray that God keeps him. Pray against predators over his life. Pray that he doesn't enter into temptation. Pray for God's labourers. 

Lessons:

God saw a lady who was not desperate, he saw that He could communicate his burden to her. So, he came to her to begin to  pray. She yielded. Yield yourself to God. Answer his call today. He knows your need. He knows what you want. But He wants His need to be met first. God needs men He could communicate His mind to. 

Do not be selfish by just praying to get a husband. Pray for others too. So many are in dire need of your prayers. You don't know what your prayers are doing. Be faithful to prayer. 

The sole reason why you are serving in that unit shouldn't be to get a partner. Serve God radically. Serve God wholeheartedly. 

No one is too small for God to communicate his mind to. Debi was just 13 when God instructed her to start praying for the preacher man. 

When Debi eventually had to work close to Michael, she never told him anything God said to her in the past. She served him diligently. She made herself available without any string of attachments. I love that kind of heart. She was not clouded with lust. She gave her best. Michael finally saw that he would not be able to do much without Debi by his side . He asked her to marry him and she gladly did. 

Finally, are you in the waiting room?

Not to worry. Continue to serve. Do not be weary in doing good. God will come for you at the right time.
