SHALL WE ALSO DO THE SAME? BY TRAILBLAZER AREGBESOLA BUNMI
There was no record found of where Samson prayed in the book of judges except when he was stripped of his freedom by his enemies. The only prayer he prayed was to die with his enemies.
Jesus encourages us to pray so that we don't enter into temptation. A closer look at the mission God called Samson into, we know it is a delicate one which no man can handle successfully except he is a man of unalloyed commitment and devotion to God.
A consecrated vessel must know he is a separate entity. It isn't that he is separated from God and his people but he is separated from the world. He will not conform to the world's standard. What then is expected of him? If he is not conforming, he must be transforming by the renewing of his mind.
A chosen vessel is a man of the secret place. The secret place is not only known to a chosen vessel in the days of adversity.
Samson who is supposed to be a deliverer turns a captive. What a great shame! He was busy enjoying the time of his life when he was supposed to be in preparation time.
The point here is that, no man can succeed in that which God has committed into his hands if he takes his secret place with levity.
If we neglect prayer, the care of this world will overwhelm us.
If we are not diligent students of the word, our minds will be corrupted.
Elijah prayed earnestly.
All the apostles prayed ardently.
Jesus' preparation is worth emulating.
Samson failed God and disappointed his generation. Shall we also do the same?
If we will not do the same, we must not determine to live like samson.
We must pray that when we are supposed to be preparing, we won't take that time as the time of enjoying one's life without any sense of duty.
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the word. Acts 6:4
