GOODNIGHT OR GOODBYE BY OLUWABUNMI AREGBESOLA
Pastor told of us a man who was going to die, he had two sons, one was born again while the other one was not. He called them to his side and gave them farewell message. After the whole thing, he said goodnight to the one who was born again and goodbye to the other son.
The other son was eager to know why he made two different statements to them.
Hear his response:
"I bid you goodbye because after this place, we can never meet again. This is because we are not on the same path.
I said goodnight to your brother because I know we shall see again. This is because we are on the same path.
Now, when someone dies in the Lord, he has gone to rest. Those who know they are identified with Christ know they will see him after a while when the roll is called up yonder.
Someone who dies outside of Christ has no meeting point again with someone who died in the Lord. They are not on the same path, they are two parallel lines that can never meet.
That mother of yours whom you love to your bones is in Christ while you are still outside enjoying the time of your life. Her salvation cannot be shared with you. It is true you love her but after this place, you can no longer meet. Individual will go their separate ways.
Therefore, we don't need to shed too much tears for that person who died in the Lord for we know he shall be quickened on the day of the Lord. We shall see ourselves and we shall know ourselves on that day.
Friend, if you die today, is it goodnight or goodbye?
My intention is not to scare you tonight but to make you understand why you need Jesus. He's not faraway. He is nearer than you think. Allow Him a space in your heart today.
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14:13
